Now, the story is pretty realistic if I must say.

The Story And then some… bow-chika-wow-wow? Maybe it’s a job too difficult? Budget issues maybe? Or the lack of understanding what the game actually needs right now as a sequel to The Crew. It made it seemed like the developers had put their focus only on the cars and their environment but couldn’t care less about the little details on buildings and people. The people’s appearances look pretty much the same and the buildings have not much detail at all. Though the cars do look really good, but the buildings and the people in the game – not so much. Uh-oh, scratches are my sole weakness! Oh, but give it a few seconds and the scratches would just “heal” up, looking good as new! Phew~! They won’t leave a dent at all on your car, except scratches. Smash your car through walls and hit those street lamps. No matter what happens, your car will be and stay pretty anyway. There’s a photo mode as well as the power to control the weather to allow you to take pictures in the beautiful environment you like. Other than that, at least the graphics are pretty. It’s a boat! It’s a plane! It’s Uh-Mericuh! to L.V., you can fly there instead of driving all the way there! Or, just take the fast travel because we just don’t have the time to travel over 400 Kilometers on the virtual map. You can also interchange your vehicles when you’re out in the open world.

An MMORPG indeed, but, you are role-playing as a car…īut what is a game that revolves around cars if there’s no customization? Though, there are not much to customize on the parts of your car as all you have to do is equip the higher scored part (which translates better than your old junk) and you’re done! The only thing that’s really customizable in the game is the outlook of your car or any other vehicle.Īt the very least, The Crew 2 does have a new feature in their races where your mode of transport would automatically turn from car to a boat, into an airplane and back into a car – depending on the race. So that means, you will have to keep racing until a good one actually drops. The parts you get are random and they have their own rarity too. Like an MMORPG, you need to get new parts to increase the power of your character (or car in this case) to be able to race against the big boys. The game does offer plenty because if you’re not racing or doing those missions available on the map, you will not obtain new parts for your car. You can also turn your a plane into a car many thousands of feet up in the air and feebly attempt to land the four-wheeled vehicle on a highway.Follow if you love single-player racing, well that’s a whole different story. You can turn your fast-moving sports car into a speed boat over dry land, and you’ll fly through New York City intersections, skidding on the pavement. You can even do this in completely illogical scenarios. If you’re a plane over a body of water, you’ll become a boat that free-falls down to the surface. If you’re a car catching some air off a jump, you’ll become a fast-moving plane flying up at the same angle. This process also transfers your speed and keeps your orientation consistent.

In The Crew 2, you’re able to hold down the thumbstick and select the desired vehicle, which will then instantly transform your ride from, say, a muscle car into a seaplane. It works very much like Rockstar Games’ character switching in Grand Theft Auto V, which let you jump around the virtual re-creation of Los Angeles by selecting one of three protagonists randomly wandering the map. It’s silly, ludicrous, and a ton of fun in a way racing games rarely are. Ubisoft’s answer: an on-the-fly system that lets you transform vehicles regardless of where you are or how fast you’re moving. Considering The Crew 2 will let you switch with ease between cars, bikes, boats, and planes of all shapes and sizes, it’s worth asking how exactly you’ll be able to move from one vehicle type to another. When Ubisoft showed off the new sequel to its open-world racer The Crew on Monday, the publisher wanted to keep a big secret under wraps until players could try the game here on the E3 show floor.
